Why I use Recycled Silver and Gold

Bombora was created with the importance of being an ethical and responsible company at the forefront of my mind.

Environmental concerns are a genuine issue and I want to play a positive role in contribution no matter how big or small.

Recycled silver and gold are a sustainable metal which are being crafted more frequently in contemporary jewellery.

Recycled silver and gold are basically silver and gold which have been used previously. This could have been in jewellery or from tools or technology items. The metals are melted down and repurposed to make new items of jewellery.

Although recycled silver and gold have environmental gains, less than 25% of the worlds silver and gold is being recycled. The process used to acquire silver and gold is traditionally through mining from the earth which releases carbon dioxide which in turn can be damaging to the earth. By crafting with recycled metals the carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced.

When people hear recycled silver and gold, they sometimes worry that the quality of the metal will not be as high. This is not the case.  Silver and gold are metals which can be recycled endlessly without losing its properties.
