Sustainability Policy

Bombora Design believe that beautiful jewellery can be made and sold while being eco conscious.

This is why we strive to ensure that our environmental footprint is as low, sustainable and ethical as possible.

All of our pieces are made at a home studio in Co. Mayo, Ireland.

Our pieces are made in small production runs or made to order which ensures that there is little to no wastage.

Bombora only uses recycled sterling silver and gold meaning that bullion is being reused and repurposed.

Bombora actively limits the amount of printing and paper used in the business.

We use as much sustainable packaging as possible.

  • Our E-commerce boxes are produced in the EU, keeping our carbon footprint low. They are also FSC* certified and recyclable.

  • Our mailer bags are FSC* certified material, produced in the EU and reusable.

  • Our jewellery boxes are 100% recyclable and biodegradable

  • Our tissue paper is 100 % natural and is made from the plant fibres of Lokta and Hemp.

  • Our wood wool filler is 100% biodegradable and recyclable.

  • Any fabric used for packaging are repurposed cut offs of linen and cotton sourced from local seamstresses and designers.

*FSC certified guarantees that all materials come from an FSC forest, where no more wood is cut down than the forest can reproduce.

Careful consideration is taken when sourcing materials/packaging and preference is given to Irish, EU and UK suppliers.

Bombora will continue to research and source sustainable materials and packaging ensuring up to date practices.
